When the big controversial issue is whether to restrict immigration somewhat, or make immigrants pledge to follow Canadian values it reveals that we're generally on the same page and that finger-pointing and name-calling is mostly ridiculous.

ya ya, that's the guy! That Argus guy was always a strong proponent for an unfettered, unrestricted, open-borders immigration policy... well, "somewhat" so, right? It was always heartening to read another Argus gem (ala the Fraser Institute, et al) assuredly making the case against immigration being needed to counter aging and low fertility rates while supporting future social program requirements. Notwithstanding the guys penchant for taking non-Canadian/non-American figures/conditions/events and liberally attaching them to North America. But ya, as you say, "generally on the same page"!  ;D
