Another nightmare scenario....

https://bc.ctvnews.ca/video-shows-kayak-rescue-taking-dramatic-turn-in-kelowna-1.5431130

What would you have done?

In that situation, I would never have let him grab my kayak.  I always have line with me, carabiners and such that I would have used to tow him to shore.  He had a PFD on, which is good.  Grab my kayak and you’ll be bonked on the noggin by a paddle until you let go.  Can’t be a help if we’re both struggling to survive...

Plus, the rescuer needs a better camera...  or learn to use better settings.  Bloody people and their shitty quality footage.  No excuse in this day and age to make me sit through anything worse than 1080p!

That was my thought too.  I always have a throw-bag with rope in it when I am out. I'd have thrown him that rather than let him grab my kayak.  I also have a loud whistle in my kayak that would hopefully get the attention of somebody with a boat.  There aren't a lot of boats on the lake so far this year, so they were pretty lucky to get help as quickly as they did.
