Based on the semifinals, one might actually think the Eagles have a real chance here.  The Patriots had an extremely tough time against the upstart Jaguars, whereas the Eagles made the Vikings' supposedly league-best defense look like a total joke.

And, although it seems like the Patriots always win, they don't.  They've flopped in big games before. It could happen again.

Still, I think the Patriots will win again this year.  Apparently the Gronk is cleared to play, which is bad news for the Eagles' defense.

As a Raptors fan, I feel obligated to support Philly, since Kyle Lowry is from there and a super fan.

That was a pretty great game by both teams!

The Eagles made the Patriots defense look just as bad as the Vikings last week...  but the Patriots did the same to the Eagles.  In terms of yardage by both teams, this was the biggest display of offense of the entire season.  Tom Brady himself passed for over 500 yards, and Nick Foles passed for 373 for the Eagles.

Brady went 0-for-1 as a receiver, as the football just bounced off his fingertips on a trick play.  At the end of the first half, the Eagles tried the exact same play, and Foles caught the ball and scored a touchdown.

Late in the game the Patriots seemed unstoppable and finally took the lead for the first time, but Foles turned around and led the Eagles back down field to take the lead back. On the next drive, someone swatted the ball out of Brady's hand while he was getting ready to score, and the Eagles ran more time of the clock and added a field goal.  But even behind by 8 points with under a minute to go, one felt like it wasn't over yet.  On the final play the Gronk had a chance to grab a jump-ball type pass in the end zone, but 5 guys in green shirts managed to bat it away from him.

An amazing game if you enjoy all-out passing offense. Terrible game to watch if you're a defensive coordinator.  It was crazy.

Not to mention the blown conversions in the first half.

These things often don't live up to the hype, but I think this was a pretty superbowl.

Did you know that owls use the concave feathers around their face as a parabolic antenna that enhances their hearing?

Despite losing, Tom Brady did manage to set a new record for most passing yards in a championship game today, with 505.

Today's offensive slugfest was not just a record for most total yards in a championship game, it was the record for most yards in any NFL game, ever.

That black/grey/white owl looks like Brady's sartorial disaster. Good choice.

Did Belichick ever congratulate the Eagles? All I heard him say was they lost because of poor coaching and they didn't play well enough to beat such a good team. Well maybe the other team had something to do with why you didn't play well enough ahole. It's like he is saying we are still the better team even though we lost. Aside from the shady stuff, that's one thing I really don't like about the guy.

IMO they won against a better team three years ago when Seattle had it won but then made that idiotic pass play on the goal line, instead of giving it to the best running back in the league.

Yeah, we get it: the guy is not likable.

He even sucks his teeth too much:  http://www.patriots.com/video/2018/02/04/bill-belichick-24-it-wasnt-quite-enough

As usual you could tell he didn’t want to be there.  Had they won he wouldn’t want to be standing in front of journalists answering obvious questions with obvious answers.

But he did say Phil was “great” and complimented many parts of their game (offense, offensive line, backs, etc) so my usual response is “haters gonna hate.”

You are right on this.

Seattle was the better team and they lost.

Last night the Pats were the better team and they lost.
