Bodyguard, a BBC drama.  Pretty intense 6 hours, good for bingeing over a long weekend.  It was the most watched drama in a decade in the UK, and the finale was the most watched program since they began keeping records.

Interested in seeing what The Outlaw King is like. Hopefully they did a better job of The Bruce than was done with Wallace in Braveheart.

Jack Ryan (Amazon Prime) is better than expected.  Worth a watch.

One of the DJs on my radio station was raving about this last week.  I'm going to check it out.   He mentioned it stars the guy who played Robb Stark on Game of Thrones.

A BBC/Netflix adaptation of Watership Down is on the way. It's going to be released on Christmas Day this year.

I read the book when I was quite young, and I saw an animated movie once upon a time which I remember being pretty great.

The animated movie was crappy 70s-style with limited colours, but they made great artwork by using those limitations to help create the bleak atmosphere.

You can also watch Plague Dogs based on another book from the same author.  Bleak.  So bleak.

Not sure if I posted this before but there's a good Netflix original, in french (with subtitles) called "A Very Secret Service" (original title is "Au Service de la France". Two seasons, though the second I think is funnier.

Derry Girls...

Acidic writing and the good Irish Catholic kind.   A girls' school in Londonderry Northern Ireland in the 90s is the scene of many awful hijinx.  They do such a good job of making those girls awful that I wasn't attracted to them in the least :D

I was at a bar last night after work and they had a movie playing on the big screen with no audio. For 10 minutes I thought it was Spinal Tap, because of the dudes with ridiculous hair and guitars. Gradually occurred to me that Spinal Tap didn't have gratuitous nudity or people injecting heroin.

Waitress: "Is this a porno?"

Bartender: "Motley Crue documentary on Netflix!"

Manager: "I'm not sure we should be playing this. It's six o'clock, families might still come in."

Bartender: "This is a great family movie!"

Waitress: "That guy puked on a stripper."

Bartender: "That's a great teachable moment for your kids."

So, uh, there's a lot of debauchery. It appears to be mostly about drugs and strippers.
