I think it depends on the big theatre production. Some are more amazing than others.

Well you sound like someone who makes up their opinions with some thought.  Therefore probably not my target audience.

Starting with Phantom of the Opera in the 1980s, a type of tourist who was not interested in theatre in the least .... all of a sudden became very interested in theatre.  Now... Phantom was designed as a kind of spectacle and I understand that... but since then there have been a parade of shows that seem to appeal and some of them really make me scratch my head.

For example: a RAP musical about a rather obscure American history figure.

Why do they like this ?
