They own the rights to Trailer Park Boys. I wonder if this money is in addition to what they already produce.

I doubt it.  But you have hit on maybe the biggest hit of the past 20 years - one that the CBC PASSED on btw. 

Did I ever tell you the story of running into the kid who liked TPB, on my way to Burning Man ?  I was renting a bike from him for the week, beside the windswept desert highway 447 in the middle of nowhere Nevada.  After we concluded our transaction he said: "Do you guys watch Trailer Park Boys ?".  I told him we did, and he said "You guys talk like them."  Probably had no idea what Canada was but he knew that show.

Also a Burner that I met from England told me that he saw them LIVE in the U.K. somewhere.

This Canadian culture thing has economic potential, eh.
