Last night we watched third season of Roman Empire, all about Caligula.  It was interesting, and provided a different perspective of Caligula's craziness.  We're going to watch Seasons two and one, probably in that order cause why not?  :)

Not NETFLX but good reads are, I Claudius and Claudius the God. Claudius was the emperor who succeeded Caligula. His life spanned the reigns of Augustus, Tiberius and Caligula. It is believed he was finally poisoned by Nero's mother so Nero could take over. He was unimposing physically, had a stutter and drooled a bit. No one took him very seriously but when he was put in place after Caligula was killed, he ended up having a long reign and was the best of that family other than Augustus himself. BBC made a miniseries of the books with Derek Jacobi as Claudius and John Hurt as Caligula. Don't know if it is available anywhere.
