Neil DeGrasse Tyson on Intelligent Design
« on: June 25, 2017, 10:29:18 am »
I found this talk by Neil deGrasse Tyson about Intelligent Design, which he calls a 'Philosophy of Ignorance'.   He points out that many great scientists, who made incredible discoveries, stopped dead when they got to a certain point and the point was essentially "God did the rest".   Further discoveries had to wait until a person who didn't give credit to God came along, and pushed to solve the mystery.   It's an interesting listen.

I haven't watched this video yet. I do recall seeing another of his videos, quite light-hearted in tone, where he talks about "Unintelligent Design", illustrating bad design choices that were made in designing the human body.  The one that stands out in my memory is putting the reproductive organs and excretory organs in the same location, which he compared to "putting the amusement park at the sewage treatment plant."
