Your own stupid post could be taken as racist microaggression by the standards of the idiots who came up with the theory of microaggression.

Here is a list put forth by  the moron most responsible for developing and propagating the theory.

when whites say they are color-blind
    when whites support meritocracy
when whites say that America should be a melting pot
when an employer says that the most qualified person should get the job
when a white teacher does not call on non-white students
when a white supervisor turns away mid-conversation from a non-white employee
when the workplace or classroom excludes decorations or literature from an employee’s or student’s racial group[10]
when Asian Americans are asked where they were born
when whites say, “I don’t see race” or “We are all human beings”[11]
when whites claim, “I have black friends,” and so on

Saying you believe in merit or that the most qualified person should get the job is a microaggression only if you know you're so ignorant that couldn't possibly be you.
I have a feeling that as white as you are you've been affronted by that one a lot in your life.

Ooops, most of those.  Still, I'm comfortable in my inclusiveness.

Yeah, the only one of those that could even fall into the range of showing any kind of bias is when a white teacher doesn't call on minority students.

I also wonder what one is supposed to do if one has black friends.  Pretend one doesn't?  Deny it all and hope for the best?  What would my black friends think?

And you'd be wrong.   I merely picked a clear example of "offend/blame the person you offended" as a way of illustrating how the same thing can happen in a different context.  Nowhere did I say they were equally as bad.

Ah, my apologies.  I misconstrued your intentions.

In that case I merely disagree with you that it is an effective way of illustrating how the same thing can happen in a different context.

I'm a white person with black curly hair and I get asked all the time about my ethnicity.  It's happened my whole life.  Some people even ask to touch it.

Should I be offended?

It hasn't offended me all these years but now I find out I've been micro-aggressed upon my whole life! :o

Ooooh, isn't that kind of offensive?  Both to blind people, (Visualize!?!?   Stickhandlers?!?!) and to the colour blind (No stick required.  But no electronics jobs.  That's sad)

Still, I'm okay with your sense of humour, no matter how offensive others might find it.

Carry on!

You should probably learn to hate yourself for being white first - then you can learn to be offended about the micro-aggressions - you have to get the order right.

I feel like people are more interested in doing comedy than in trying to understand what other people are saying.

The idea of talking about microaggression is not to enforce political correctness, it's to encourage people to give some thought to the messages you're sending people you're interacting with, sometimes without even realizing it.

Thanks for this.  I don't think I have ever had it defined for me before.

I'm open to hearing when people have something to say about dialogue.  The status quo definitely has a point of privilege in such discussions, IMO.
