Well, he's not wrong given where he stood in the pop music pantheon.

Of course he is.

(I'm going by your comment on his views.  I didn't watch the video.  He's no John Cleese)

Interestingly, he finds John Lennon's mother to be amazing but almost everything else by Beatles not.  Tells you about the emotional ore that he finds worth mining.

He's wrong that the Beatles were garbage.

These are opinions.  As such, what else would Lou Reed say about the most successful pop group ever ?

Well everyone's entitled to their opinions.  My opinion is that this opinion of his is dumb.

I remember hearing Lou Reed performing "September Song" on some CBC Kurt Weill special in the early to mid-90s. It literally made me scream in horror and turn the TV off. One of the worst things I ever heard.

But Heroin is a pretty good song. I don't think I ever need to hear it again, but it's pretty good. Stephanie Says is awesome.

Is that on "Metal Machine Music"?  That's pretty bad.  I have a copy, but I can't listen to it.

I loved "Transformer" though.

I'll be honest. I don't care much for The Beatles; I don't get the hype. I much prefer The Rolling Stones.

Yes, and I also like the Beatles and the Stones. But I've always been about the 20s and 30s jazz. Hence my moniker.
