I have great hair, if that means anything.  No visible grey.
Me too, at 62.  I think I look mid-50s, but maybe I'm just being polite.  :)

Maybe the best pop song ever.  BTW - this is Stevie Nicks singing but not her in the video ?!?

Mark Mothersbaugh is one of the founders of DEVO. And he's also a wildly prolific composer of music for movie and TV soundtracks.  He has composed music for Thor: Ragnarok, and Disenchantment, and The Rugrats, and hundreds of other things as well.

Mothersbaugh is 70 years old now, so when he contracted COVID-19 this summer it was pretty dangerous.  But he survived, and can continue his mission to warn the world about the dangers of devolution.

Incredibly, DEVO was founded nearly 50 years ago. Mark and his bandmates have been trying to tell the world the truth about devolution for almost a half century. Devolution, the controversial theory for which the band is named, posits that mankind is devolving into a brainless species of worker-drones.  As the past 4 years (and especially the past 8 months) have shown, devolution is very real. Mankind has no future. Our greatest days are long behind us. Basically, we're doomed.

DEVO were known for ridiculous songs as well as their ridiculous costumes and "Energy Dome" hats. They also often wore jumpsuits, haz-mat suits, and strange eyewear.  In Mothersbaugh's case the eyewear wasn't a fashion choice, it was a necessity.  He has severe astigmatism and he needs to wear glasses that are so thick he can almost see the future.

One of their first singles was "Mongoloid", from a time when you were still allowed to say "Mongoloid".

I saw an art film almost 40 years ago about the 'young peoples' music' called Urgh !  A Music War.

Devo stood out - an art band that also wanted to rock like Chuck Berry.

Commendable.

I only know Queen as much as the average contemporary listener, but a friend put me on to their first album.  Definitely a lost classic.

Proggy but not indulgent.  It's equal parts theatre and Led Zeppelin...

This movie had a great classical sound track and got an Oscar for sound editing. Also the first feature film allowed to film on location in the Galapagos.

Today was the 40th anniversary of the murder of John Lennon.  My local radio station played a montage of clips this morning that included this audio of Howard Cosell breaking the news on Monday Night Football.
