Anyone like reading via e readers? I've got a Kindle paperwhite. Love it because the thing's supposedly waterproof. I have a bad back and occasionally like to soak it, so if I drop it in the water, no problem. Of course, I've never deliberately done it to test Amazon's claim of waterproof-ness. But if you drop a print book in the water it's hit for six.
I have to admit that reading with a real book is more enjoyable, but the e readers have their practical aspect, and sometimes make it easier to read since you don't have to hold the book open (hands free except when you have to tap the screen to change the page).
Another great thing is it saves bookshelf space. I tend to buy more books than I can read. If I had all those kindle e-books as real books I'd need to buy another whole bookshelf. Or two. (Though I still have a ton of print books as well.)
It's an older kind of technology, the magnetic e-ink, and a tablet/iPad can do a lot more. But they're heavier and the batteries don't last as long as they do on a Kindle/e-readers.
Since I have too much time on my hands, I use Goodreads, and can upload the more hilarious passages from the Arabian Nights (I'm reading it now) along with my own snarky comments thereof. Yes, a definite sign of too much time on my hands. Ah well...
