Maybe I'm the only one that doesn't know - where is Kim City, exactly?

She's never said publicly as far as I know but she had dropped some hints which us BC'ers may have found more familiar.

Then during the BC election she said something that pretty much confirmed it, but then again, I don't know for certain and that's why I didn't mention any names.

Thanks, BCC!  Things are ok in my area. A community just up the highway had a human-caused fire yesterday, but it was contained pretty quickly.  The hardest-hit areas have been to the north and west of here, especially the Williams Lake region.

A few days last week the smoke here was so thick that you could only see a few blocks, but now the air quality is back to normal and it's easy to forget that so much of the province is on fire right now.  A lot of evacuees are being accommodated here right now.

Maybe I'm the only one that doesn't know - where is Kim City, exactly?

Kim City is the central community in the Lost Lake region of BC's interior.

The sheer ignorance and stupidity of some people is just infuriating.

I'm glad you're ok.  We got the air warnings down here too now, I couldn't believe it.  We're up in the mountains so I haven't personally experienced it but I'll be venturing into the city today I'm curious if I'll notice anything.

Close to 50,000 people now displaced.  I feel so bad.

A few days last week we had smoke so heavy that visibility was just a few blocks. It was pretty tough for me, as I have chronic respiratory issues.

This week, things seem to be improving, and some of the displaced people are being allowed to return to their homes.

Today the smoke is so dense that despite a weather forecast that says clear and cloudless, it is darker than a rainy winter day. What little light filters through has a sickly orange tint like the light from a sodium bulb street light. There's no immediate threat-- the smoke here has been coming from fires northwest of here today; we were getting smoke from Washington State yesterday. Nonetheless it creates an ominous feeling. And worse, for people with respiratory illness (including myself to some extent) it's a health hazard.

I'm sitting here in the mountains and the skies are grey and the smell of smoke is very prominent.  :(

A freind of mine who lives near Kamloops asked on Facebook if she could advertise her vegetables as "naturally smoked".

Kamloops air contaminant level is currently at 49 on a scale that's supposed to go from 1 to 10.  Not even joking.
