We have a subject called "Weird, fun videos" but this doesn't seem to fit. I do find it interesting, though, so thought I'd start a new subject for the other 'interesting' videos I come across.
It's an interview on British TV. The man being interviewed is a Tory backbencher I'd never heard of who has apparently made a name for himself for his conservative views (a bit too conservative for me) and his well-spoken and fearless manner. He's being spoken of as a possible future Tory leader, perhaps even the next one.
What I like about this is what I seldom see in Canadian political interviews. First, it's not two minutes long. So it's much harder for the politician to make bland statements that mean nothing. Second, he is challenged, and when he brushes it off, challenged again, repeatedly, on his social views. The interviewer isn't rude, but forthright and determined. Third, he is forthright in his answers, intelligent, sophisticated, and very firm in a way I rarely see from Canadian politicians. He makes a clear case that his religious views are well known, but his own, and that he does not see himself changing laws to suit his Catholicism(Abortion, gay marriage) because this would not reflect the public's clear preferences. He's clearly an extremely intelligent and articulate man - again something I rarely seem to see here. Btw, ignore the clickbait title. There's no destroying going on.
