What context do you need there that would make that less nonsensical?

Me?  Well... I am giving a slight defense.  I would give a full defence if he would be able to quote the actual philosophers who had these ideas to begin with.  I have heard him quote Nietzsche.... slightly... in the context of telling the audience whether parts of the philosophy were "good" or "bad"... according to Jordan.

But anyway

Peterson waffles... says he believes in God... but really he doesn't and won't admit it in front of his customers....

His “deepities” were exposed by Harris quite badly.  Still, people like Graham are suckers for his kind of deepities, like Deepak followers are for those kinds.

Say a lot of words that don’t mean sh!t, and people are fooled.

We have absolutely no idea what they're discussing.

What's the topic they're discussing?  What question is Peterson responding to?  Nobody has any effing clue from a 20 second clip where we jump in during the middle of an answer.

We have absolutely no idea what they're discussing.

What do you mean by "absolutely?" What do you mean by "idea?" What do you mean by "discussing?"

Here's Peterson talking about post modernism including his definition of it.  Some have said he doesn't even understand what it is.  They're wrong, his definition is exactly how it's defined, as per below.  The ones who criticize him on it are likely the ones that don't understand what it is:

"Postmodernism is an intellectual stance or mode of discourse which challenges worldviews associated with Enlightenment rationality dating back to the 17th century.[4] Postmodernism is associated with relativism and a focus on ideology in the maintenance of economic and political power.[4] Postmodernists are "skeptical of explanations which claim to be valid for all groups, cultures, traditions, or races, and instead focuses on the relative truths of each person".[20] It considers "reality" to be a mental construct.[20] Postmodernism rejects the possibility of unmediated reality or objectively-rational knowledge, asserting that all interpretations are contingent on the perspective from which they are made;[5] claims to objective fact are dismissed as naive realism."

He's getting better at this, from the days he used to use the term 'postmodern neomarxists'.  Clearly from the intro he says that that's a contradiction.

I'm probably not going to watch 27 minutes of the lecture.

But the excerpt you posted seems good except for the last sentence.  Philosophy has talked about the problem of perspective and subjectivity since modernism.  Postmodern philosophy took it farther but I don't think that they tried to say physical reality doesn't exist.

Peterson's schtick is to give his perspective then claim that his take is THE truth.  It's fed to people who are anti intellectual to confirm their biases and to make Peterson money.

Really it's just a reboot of the classic modernist religious wars.  Peterson comes on like a moralist who opposes amoral nihilism and his foes come on as moralists who oppose his attempts to frame the patriarchy as a solution to our woes.

MetaModern philosophy acknowledges that the patriarchy was not a natural social construct and that it repressed minority viewpoints while acknowledging that morality and traditions are inevitable and necessary to a community.

From what i've heard JP doesn't think a patriarchy exists.

JP correctly predicted the fascistic compelling of language by government several years ago, and things have only gotten worse.
