So as I just mentioned, this was a situation that went on for years. It wasn't something he did when he was 14, it was something he he kept on doing. That's not a youthful mistake, that's just a character flaw.

Scumbag people facing the consequences of their actions isn't something that happens as often as it should, but we can still enjoy it when it happens. Remember seeing that Steubenville football player bawling on CNN after his r4pe conviction? "Nobody gonna draft me now "  That was fucken sweet.  It doesn't happen often enough, but we can still celebrate when it does.

I said my piece about Evander Kane earlier in the thread.

Oilers fans are already turning on Jack Campbell.  He should have never signed there.

Campbell has been decisively outplayed by the backup so far this season.

We might not always agree who is a scumbag who deserves the consequences that have befallen them.  But I think most of us can agree that a guy who spent years tormenting a mentally disabled kid is one.

Hasn’t he already paid for his behaviour?  How long is something that began when he was 14 suppose to be held against him?  Yep, he bullied somebody, starting at age 14.  Where were his parents?  Where were school officials?  We don’t even hold children fully accountable for murder let alone bullying.  I’m fine if he has to spend a year or two ineligible.  However, there’s no reason, other than woke cancel culture, that he should be banned from the NHL for life.  None.

Hilarious that a "tough on crime" guy who thinks that people accused of non-violent crimes should rot in jail if they're poor thinks some shithead hockey player who tormented and racially abused another kid for years and has shown zero remorse or accountability should get a free ticket to the show because he wrote a court mandated letter. Completely warped Boomer brain.

(Also Shiddy seems to think 14 year olds are in Grade 2, which may have been his experience but is definitely not the case here).

The Jack Campbell situation in Edmonton is getting pretty ugly.  I’m honestly thinking that they might buy his contract out, or at the very least send him to the minors for a while.

Absolutely nothing. Although I don't think they're making the playoffs either.
Hmmm...I take that back about not thinking the Jets are making the playoffs this year. I continue to stand by my Leafs prediction though.

Campbell continues to be terrible, but ultimately the blame lies with Ken Holland for a) signing a notoriously streaky tender to along term deal b) failing to build a decent d-corps in front of whoever is in net. That old fart needs to be turfed, but I think the damage has been done. The Oilers will not win a Cup with the best one-two punch since prime Crosby-Malkin and that's a damn shame.

The Oilers are mid but the GOAT McDavid is on pace for 155 points this season.

You never make pronouncements 2 weeks into an 82 game season.

Some people even make them at the very beginning of the season. But I stand by my prediction about both the Leafs and the Jets. It's still early and I don't have money riding on it.
