Hockey is a white supremacist sport, like golf and tennis and Nascar and swimming and horse jumping.  I don't watch those sports.

He’s only 33, I’m not sure why he wouldn’t take a minimum 1 year contract and play for a contender.

Because injuries have made him less than an NHLer, and now he can start a new career with ESPN and Sportsnet bidding on him as a broadcaster.

I didn’t hear anything about injuries.  I think he’d be perfect as a bottom pair defeceman, getting about 10 minutes a game.  He could be very effective.

He’s been one of the worst d-men in the league for the last three years, he’s just done. Good for him for recognizing the end of the line and he’ll probably make more money as a TV analyst.

Fun fact about Zdeno Chara: with his retirement there are now no active NHL players who have been on a team that has lost a playoff series to the Leafs.

Hockey Canada continues to haemorrhage sponsors and support in the wake of the sexual assault scandal. Canadian Tire has cut ties and Tim Hortons, Telus Corp. and Scotiabank have all pulled funding from the men's program. Hockey Quebec, the Ontario Hockey Federation and Hockey Nova Scotia are no longer collecting fees for the national organization.

The Fifth Estate has identified at least 15 cases of alleged group sexual assault involving junior hockey players that have been investigated by police since 1989 — half of which surfaced in the past decade. And you can bet the actual number of such incidents is far higher. Again this and none of the revelations about hockey culture would be a surprise to anyone who grew up around it.

Please explain how this differs from society in general.  You scurried away from that.

Please explain how this differs from society in general.  You scurried away from that.

Gangbangs are not normalized in regular society you retard.

Quote
In the 1990s, journalist Laura Robinson started investigating sexual abuse by athletes in various sports, but quickly, she said, “hockey stood out.”

“With hockey, I found that most of the assaults were being done by the team, whether that was an alleged gang sexual assault of a female who they basically cornered, either in a basement or a hotel room, or it was rookies during the initiations,” she said.
...
Former St. Louis Blues player Mike Danton said he saw in his late 1990s junior hockey career how sex permeated much of what team members did together off the ice, from rookie initiations to sex at celebratory parties.

“Being a teenager, I don’t think that seven-on-ones and six-on-twos and 10-on-threes is a smart thing to do.”

Danton said he doesn’t think group sex was coming from teenagers just being experimental.

“I think it’s more like a: ‘Hey, let’s bring the boys in and let’s do this,’” Danton said. “Like a team concept type of thing, you do everything as a team type of thing.

“I’ve been at parties before and I’ve seen how a group of four or five hockey players can talk to two or three [women] and you can see the intimidation factor there.”
...
Former Chicago Blackhawks player Daniel Carcillo is the lead plaintiff in a proposed class-action lawsuit against the Canadian Hockey League and many Hockey Canada-affiliate teams that alleges players have been subjected to sexualized hazing practices for decades.

He says the environment in small-town Canada — where “hockey’s religion” — also exposed teenage players to unusually mature sexual experiences with local girls. He said that although he didn’t take part himself, he “definitely” heard about players involved in group sex.

Hmmm, I'm not so sure about that.  You should take a look at College/University culture for examples of the same kinds of things.

Well, maybe you should post the data you say you have dipshit.

I don't believe for a second that there's a culture of gang r**e in post-secondary.

Going downtown to go boo the Leafs. Don't really care if the Jets win, so long as the Leafs lose.

Fun game despite the outcome. I must admit the Leafs are an exciting team to watch live. They should go far this year. Probably right to the 7th game of the first round
