I have read two great hockey books: Derek Sanderson's autobiography as well as Klein and Reef's Hockey Compendium.

Derek Sanderson's book sounds really interesting.

Another excellent book is called "When the Lights Went Out."  It takes an in-depth look at the infamous Canada-USSR brawl at the 1987 World Junior Championships.  This brawl has long lasting ramifications, as it turned the World Junior Championships from some obscure tourney, into a must-watch sports event in Canada.  It also launched Don Cherry's career in broadcasting.
