In honour of the firefighters fighting the blazes that are making our skies very smoky, I made my own version of a cocktail I found online.

I call mine “Smoky Skies”

Makes 2...  half it for 1

3oz smoky scotch (I used Talisker)
4oz pineapple juice
3 tablespoons (maybe a bit less) of agave nectar
Juice from 1/2 a lime
Couple dashes of Peach bitters

Surprisingly nice...  I might use even less of the agave next time...   very smoky, sweet and fruity cocktail.  Unusual combination, but it works.  Plus, the drink is the same colour as the skies here!

Got my ingredients for a couple batches of home brew.  About 20 kg + of grains, a variety of hops and some liquid yeast.

Going to make a batch of IPA and a version of a Cascadia dark (or black IPA).  Wish me luck. I’ll let you know how it tastes in a month or so.

I forgot to post that I got drunk for the first time in a few years... maybe since Eazy was born... at a backyard BBQ in early Sept.

Well... tipsy

The culprit was a single hard-mixed Negroni cocktail - 3 oz.   :D

This is my bloody ‘dream house’!!!   Finding whiskey stashed in the walls and floors....

I wonder if these bottles would be worth anything at auction?  Would it actually be good whiskey???   A bottle in the pics is labeled as a blended scotch, so a bottle from the 20s could probably be worth quite a lot!  But if it’s bootlegged crap that can make you go blind...   well...  maybe not...

Very cool find though.

Maybe the best beer ever:

Pale ale with distinct floral hop aromas and some bitterness.  Almost an IPA, but not quite. ABV is 5.3%

Brilliant.

I've had it. I wasn't blown away or anything, but I'm not into IPA style beers.

My local bar has the 33 Acres French Blanche on tap right now, and it's very nice.

Nice!  Sounds like you frequent a good bar.

I am into hoppy brews, so this is right up my alley.  Probably my favourite beer, next to Driftwood Fat Tug.

I always try and visit the 33 Acres brewery (and 33 Experimental brewery next door) when I go to Vancouver.   https://www.google.ca/maps/@49.2637863,-123.1055185,3a,75y,12.17h,91.66t/data=!3m6!1e1!3m4!1s1RU2_zssmLCLfcq1eXJaHQ!2e0!7i16384!8i8192
