Drugs are bad. Bad bad bad.
And there are always new ones.
I had dinner last night with someone who did an Iowaska ceremony. This drug is known to trigger self-realization and life changes, and is often taken in groups in a several-days long ceremony. I commented that I can't imagine what I don't already know about myself at this age.
Fentanyl is also a new one, and my
**** friends tell me that they can't take their drugs anymore because of it. A friend's teenage son tried mushrooms and they were laced with something so he flipped out and smashed a window, now he's in therapy.
Like drink, there is a way to use drugs to enjoy life and people. But there is a saying in an eastern philosophy about the dangers of getting a peek at heaven via drugs, then wanting to just stay there.
My crowd does a lot of drugs, but also has people who are 100% or close to 100% sober (I'm in the later group). Choose life.
