We’ve had marijuana retail outlets here for years.  Nothing has changed today compared to yesterday around here.

Do you drink alcohol for reasons other than getting a buzz?  At least there's no hangover with weed.  ;)

Yes I do and I haven't had a hangover in a long time. A nice G and T on a hot day, a glass of good wine with a meal. An occasional single malt or liqueur. Very nice and much better than filling my lungs with smoke and smelling bad. Most of the beer I drink in the summer is non alcoholic. I don't like soft drinks and the alcohol in regular beer can make me dozy. Each to their own.

The hydroponics supply shop near where I work was supposed to have world-famous marijuana enthusiast Tommy Chong on hand Wednesday to celebrate legalization day.  But he couldn't make it because he couldn't find his passport.

Probably because he would have a tougher time getting back into the US without his passport, even if he has become a US citizen.

Isn't it great that cannabis is now legal?

You can't get it because all the shops are out of stock.....

But hey, it's legal.

What a clusterfuck this whole situation has been. Instead of undermining the black market, they've simply bolstered it by dropping the ball on production and supply.

I heard something lately that they had opened two more shops in Kamloops (making a total of 3) but they are all sold out, or were. Maybe it's time to start a grow op.

I'm not a user, well maybe a bit back in college days, but I think it's high time, no pun intended, that we stopped jailing people and giving them criminal records for what I think is no worse than drinking a beer.

You can always order some of the stuff with mold. I also hear that the complaints about dead bugs in the supply are unfounded, the official word is it is just "organic matter". Last I checked, dead bugs are organic.

What drugs have you done ?
Pretty much nothing.

Tried a few sips of alcohol, but caused my stomach to burn for a couple of hours after (so alcohol doesn't agree with me.).

Never had the interest in trying pot (whether its legal or illegal), or any other illicit drug.

Only drugs I take have either proscribed by my doctor or over-the-counter pain meds.

(Although I don't use drugs, I do think that ultimately the legalization of pot was probably a good thing. And I'm not against alcohol use; I just know something in it upsets my internals.)

I cut my hand one time working on my boat motor while down in the US-10 stitches to sew it back up. One of the first things I got at the clinic was a shot in the butt of Demerol. First time for mr with that stuff and quite a buzz. It sure took the pain away. When the doctor finished sewing me up he asked me where I'd be in 10 days or so to get the stitches out. When I said my plan had been to be somewhere in the Bahamas by then he gave me a quick lesson on how to remove stitches and a prescription for Demerol pills. I think it said I could take one every four hours for pain. Well after a couple of days I wasn't feeling a lot of pain, and I got the motor job done with the help of a friend, and we got on our way. By the time that bottle of pills was empty I think my lady got a little tired of me asking her "what time is it"? I could see how you could get hooked on that stuff.

Back in the eighties when I was in my last term at BCIT I suffered from panic attacks, and the Doc prescribed me Ativan.  They were nice.  It broke my heart to give the unused ones back.
