Telling that I didn't include the one drug that has bested me, and continues to threaten my longevity.  True, I haven't had smoke in 4 months now but I agree with your friend.

Well I didn't just quit one time, I quit a number of times and fell back into it. But that last time was a different deal. I wasn't so much thinking about saving my health or saving money, I was just so fed up with the stink and the taste etc., it almost made it easy. 4 months is a pretty good start. Soldier on.

Ok.

Is ANYONE going to change their weed habits now that it's legal ?

I smoke once in a blue moon, and this means I may be able to do it in public.  With baby coming, that's probably going to be next summer.

My experience as well. Quit cigarettes several times for up to a year and then went back. Then one day I just decided I didn't want to do that anymore and never looked back. I guess like any addiction, you have to be ready, otherwise you are just an addict who choses not to consume for a while. I can't stand cigarette smoke now and pot smoke smells like someone ran over a skunk. The smell of a good cigar still grabs me but I would probably puke if I smoked one now. At least that's what I tell myself.

As far as pot goes, I finally managed to quit smoking one thing and I'm not about to replace it with another.

Yep, I'm sticking with a few beers down at the local while we solve the worlds problems, pulling a cork out the odd time at dinner, and a single malt on special occasions. I have just recently found out that a friend, who is exactly my age, has been diagnosed with stage 4 metastatic lung cancer, and she's still puffing. I'm of course saddened by that news and at the same time so thankful I was able to give those damn things up.

Absolutely. The only thing keeping me from partaking in Canada's favourite past-time was the legal problems it created. I'll be high 24/7 now!

You don't have to smoke cannabis. They sell oils and sprays and will eventually have a regulated edibles market.

My sympathies to Ontarians who're getting screwed by their provincial government. You guys are the only province without a retail distribution network that isn't online. I guess Doug Ford didn't want to give up his high school day job.

I might one day use edibles for medical purposes if the need arises but for now I'm fine a with my favourite alcoholic beverages. Pot wasn't a part of my youth like it was for people four or five years younger. I didn't know anyone who used it in high school and never had any interest in it or other drugs. Other than booze of course.

I'm really not trying to encourage you to use it. To each their own. I'm probably not going to use it (my comment above was a joke). You should just know that oils and sprays are available for those who don't want to smoke it. You can also vaporize it, which is supposed to be safer than smoke too.

Yes, I know someone who makes "cookies" but they have a chronic cancer. I'm certainly not going to say I won't use it but if I do, there will have to be a good reason other than getting high.

Do you drink alcohol for reasons other than getting a buzz?  At least there's no hangover with weed.  ;)

I never touched the stuff when it was illegal, so the question that remains to be answered is will curiosity get the better of me. In the past 15 hours I haven't rushed out to acquire any.
