My older one graduated elementary school and one skill they drilled into them that didn't exist back in our time was kindness.  It doesn't come naturally for everyone but can very much be a learned skill. 

With the way this generation is growing up in a virtual reality, I think empathy and self awareness is also important.

That’s great…. I think there also needs to be a class about critical thinking.  And also ethics and morals, and how we achieve them.

I think they do.  I remember having them even when I went to high school.

Those are values.

I don't know if you can teach them at school and have it stick.
