Or maybe they were willing t tolerate the digressions as part of the brand until he went all racist. Or perhaps they realized his time was done and this gave them a perfect excuse to get rid of a senile old fart.

Using the term 'you people' about immigrants is 'all racist' only to the progressives, for whom almost any term other than open adulation towards minority and identity groups is outrageous racism or sexism or some kind of 'phobia'.

This is such whiny bullshit. Surveys of academia since the 1950s have consistently shown liberals outnumbering conservatives in higher ed. The obvious explanation is self-selection:conservatives go into business or the vast and lucrative right wing think tank industry, they don't get PhDs and try to make five figures toiling in the academy.
Surveys have shown the numbers shifting and the discrepancy growing enormously to the point there are almost no conservatives left. Those who are left and who are questions all say they feel intimidated to repress their views. Nearly half of university professors would refuse to hire someone if they were coneservative.

Lots of professors post video/audio recordings of their classes. With the university's permission. If privacy is a concern maybe you shouldn't stand up in a big classroom and talk about your issues with strangers.

You are a really arrogant SOB, you know that? You look for reasons to confirm your own left-wing bias about these issues and then act like everyone else ought to be using that information to change their views completely. That's crap. He posted criticisms of colleagues? Give us a **** break. Tons of professors post criticism of any colleague who dares to issue a politicaly incorrect opinion. And they aren't slow to sign petitions for their removal either.

I debunked the claim.  That's not arrogance, it's just examination of the facts.

That said I've never made many conservative friends referring to them as 'you people' when arguing over something.

You ignored the reality that when an institution wants to get rid of a 'problem employee' it will find an excuse that allows it to do so.
Peterson never broke any of his institution's rules and was way too high profile to just find an excuse to dump.

He posted an audio of a woman talking about her **** without her consent.  You really think they set out to 'find an excuse' ?

I don't know you - but this isn't the really kind of forum where people support political loyalty over all principle...

I don't think so.

Yeah, like Waldo isn't a perennial poster here.

What I pointed out to you and which you ignored was that what he actually posted was his class, something a lot of professors do. You are insinuating that he posted some kind of personal conversation and that is simply not the case.

And what i see here are people from your side of the political spectrum defending looting, burning and assaults as long as they're being done 'for a good cause', not to mention perverts using a pretense of being transgender to go in and sexually harrass women. Don't give me any bullshit about how the members here are unbiased.

No - he posted a very personal admission.  That, taken with the other comments, shows he's irresponsible and negligent at best.  But the worst thing is that people are posting that he was removed without including these details.

Well you're putting me together with people I have no association with.  That's your mistake.

Overall they are great.  Your fallacies are your problem.  Don't bring the problems of American Democrats in here and tie me to them.

LOL the whole rant was racist to its core, singling out people of colour, assuming they are new immigrants and blaming them for not wearing poppies; focusing on the "you people" part is a very poor attempt to elide that.

“None of this is because liberals are particularly prone to discriminate,” Kaufmann said. “In fact, liberals and conservatives in academia discriminate at similar rates. The difference is that many more scholars lean left, meaning that the impact of discrimination falls overwhelmingly on conservatives, a serious issue.

Also it's telling that these reports always talk about right-wingers' hesitancy to express their views without actually getting into what specific views they are afraid to share, which seems pretty relevant to the question. As the famous tweet goes:

Quote
Conservative: I have been censored for my conservative views

Me: Holy ****! You were censored for wanting lower taxes?

Con: LOL no...no not those views

Me: So....deregulation?

Con: Haha no not those views either

Me: Which views, exactly?

Con: Oh, you know the ones

I just watched a very excellent four-part series called "British Columbia: the Untold History" on the Knowledge Network (B.C.'s PBS) which covers the history of province with a focus on Indigenous and immigrant experiences. I learned a ton of stuff I'd never been taught in school like the Fraser Canyon War of 1858 and even more recent events like the forced relocation of the Kwadacha First Nation when their lands were flooded without their knowledge or consent by the construction of the W.A.C. Bennett Dam in the late '60s. All the information was presented in a straightforward way with extensive interviews with historians and decedents with no moralizing about right and wrong and yet there's no escaping the fact that simply by choosing to focus on particular groups and the violence, discrimination and cruelty they faced, the producers have made a political choice.

I bring this up because (a) it's good and folks should watch it and (b) it really highlights the futility of any attempt to teach history using "unbiased material" since the mere act of selecting which stories to tell and perspectives to be considered is going to be loaded. I'd rather see that acknowledged up front than trying to pretend the impossible is possible.

Here’s a link to the trailer for the program.  Maybe Graham and Cynic can tell us that it’s propaganda to document and discuss these events.

I was watching a video of the Luxor road opening in Egypt and marveling at the effort they put into restoring things and bringing their ancient culture to life. But I couldn't help thinking if they were Canadians like you and Blackhead you'd be screeching about how the pharaohs owned slaves and didn't have properly enlightened social views and trying to pull their statues down and doing your best to erase history. These people take pride in their culture and country, the kind of pride your type sneers at as 'white supremacy' or some other such far left twaddle.

Celebrating the role Indigenous and immigrant peoples played in making this country what it is and the obstacles they had to overcome (including white supremacist laws) isn't erasing history, you dumbass.

Sorry the fact Canada was explicitly built on white supremacy triggers you so much that you need a safe space where you don't have to learn real history. You should definitely keep crying about it like a ****.
