I said a spectrum, and obviously restaurants are not essential services but for some people they are fairly high (eg. those traveling). As I mentioned before, the entertainment industry seems to occupy a special place and restaurants certainly fit in that category as well.

I never mentioned cannabis dispensaries, but since you brought them up where do they fit on the spectrum. I would suggest below grocery stores. I am not familiar with their pharmacological usage so in some cases they my be closer to a drug store (which often have a rotating holiday schedule).

Apparently cannabis stores are exempt and can stay open.

So are you opposed to the government regulating it at all or just the way it prioritizes?

Stay out of it.  Or make it the same across the board.

If hospitals can't have a holiday, no one should?

If a grocery is forced to have a holiday, so should a restaurant.

Or, better yet, don’t legislate anything about forcing a grocery store to close.

That's pretty ludicrous.  You can buy marijuana but you can't go to a Kwik-E-Mart to buy some Doritos to eat afterward?

Kwik e Marts are fine. It's the full service supermarkets that have to close. I think 4 employees is the limit they set.

As Bubba says...  you can go to 7-11 for munchies after you hit the cannabis store.

But you are not allowed to buy fresh veggies or fruit.  Those items are forbidden.

But apparently I am unreasonable and want to cancel Christmas...   ::)

Everything should close, except essential services like gas stations, hospitals etc.

Load up on beer and weed and Doritos the day before.

Groceries are not a "nice to have"...    but shut everything down, other than essential services, then.  Make it fair.

Jesus would be in favour of being able to buy groceries.
