I was surprised by some of the footage I saw that was from inside the cathedral after things had cooled down. I was expecting total destruction of the interior and so it was good to see that it was less so. Certain things such as that huge organ (8000 pipes) had survived except for a little water damage. It seems the fire as scary as it looked was mostly focused in the attic, where they say it started. I wonder what the plan is to do with the contents that did survive while they begin the repairs. I would imagine for instance that the portion of the roof that didn't collapse might have to be removed if it's structural integrity has been compromised, and I would think you'd want to get precious items out of the way of possible damage during that process. Perhaps the will portion out pieces to various other cathedrals, art galleries, etc. for the time being.
