I am not a follower of any religion but when you walk through that building you can't help but be inspired by the architecture, the artistry, the craftman ship that surrounds you wherever you look. It seemed much more than a material thing to me. I had the good fortune to visit the "Sacred Family" in Barcelona as well and felt a similar hit from it.

I'm not religious at all but one of my favourite things in London was Evensong at St. Pauls. If I could drag myself out of bed after a post flight nap in time, I would head down there and listen to the choir before hitting a Shepherd Neame pub near Smithfield for some dinner. Sitting there listening to that wonderful choir in that beautiful building was good for whatever ailed me at the time. Hopefully, Notre Dame will continue to inspire people for another 800 years.
