Give them some credit. Many are still saying the same stuff about gay people.
"I have worked hard to represent people of all backgrounds and I have always done so in a spirit of tolerance. My reference to the term 'tar baby' was a common reference that refers to issues that stick to one." - Pierre Poilievre

Suggest what?

It's the panic du jour for sure, but they were saying literally the same stuff about gay people a decade or so ago.

Suggest talking about wages, prices and safety net.

"The right wing has a massive propaganda apparatus that is designed to keep the working class at each others' throats while the rich pick their pockets."

Surely these topics need focus.  And something deeper than 'OMG things are expensive '

Pretend you're talking about gas prices then. Maybe the evolution of stupidity of culture War is for people to complain about select parts of the economy based on who they vote for.

I'm not sure who you think we're supposed to be having these conversations with because I do not believe the red-faced hogs who storm school board meetings to yell about Satanism are reachable through sober discussions of policy.

Nobody’s showing up at school board meetings complaining about satanism.  They’re complaining about your continued sexualization of children and your garbage racist critical race theory.  Hey I got an idea.  Who about actually teaching kids math, science, geography, English etc?  What a f**king concept huh?

"They're not talking about satanism, they're talking about a bunch of other insane made-up ****!" is not the dunk you think it is retard.

I would challenge you to explain how talking about gender identity or sexual orientation is "sexualizing" children or what you mean by "critical race theory" through concrete examples, but I know these are just buzzwords rattling around an empty skull.

The bad grammar here elevates this moronic false dichotomy into a beautiful self-own.

Reiterating: they're not able to engage in politics, and they have marginal support.... they need to be pushed out unless they engage in good faith, which they can't.

Yeah.  Not them.

So who? I agree there are extremes that do not represent the majority of the electorate. The issue is in the U.S. and, increasingly in Canada and other western nations, only one side's extremists have actual political power.

The former is not true, they absolutely have political power. As for marginal support, I'm not sure that matters given the other thing.

Shiddy: "They aren't talking about satanism!"
Chuds: "Yes we are!"

‘They are grooming our children for immoral satanic worship’: Southern Utah politicians target drag shows

Quote
Drag shows in the St. George area are promoting same-sex attraction, grooming children for satanic purposes and are being abetted by civic leaders who won’t stand up for what is right, according to a candidate in Washington County.
...
Kent founded Liberty Action Coalition in July 2020. Since then, coalition members have united to oppose socialism, mask mandates, Black Lives Matter and mandatory vaccinations for children. They also took to the streets two years ago to stage a mass vehicle rally in support of former President Donald Trump’s failed bid for reelection.

Now, the 4,000-member coalition has a new target in its crosshairs: drag shows. Coalition members argue men dressing up as women in the public square harms civic virtue, community morals and children, whom they say are being dragged down to the depths of depravity.

Of course I posted an article earlier about the ding dongs who were upset over a school mural because they thought it contained satanic symbols, but Shiddy has the brain of a goldfish.

"politics" meaning the ability to negotiate and progress a real agenda.

Poilievre smiling and shaking their hands to troll Liberals and NDP isn't the same as them getting their way moving forward.  See how Doug Ford dealt with them once he was in power.

Caveats for my statements:

-Populism is NOT dead and their power could increase at any time
-I refer to their CURRENT status ... in Canada
-Don't talk about Texas.  Ever.

You won't get anywhere in the States as a Republican politician unless you sign onto the hog agenda. As for Canada, I think Canada is lucky in that our politics are naturally more moderate and less partisan, but then Danielle Smith exists.
