Can't talk about Nirvana influences without these guys:
Ok. I listened to their first EP.... not a recommended option for a Monday AM.
To be clear: THIS IS NOT MY KIND OF MUSIC. I prefer Dave Brubeck Take Five day and night... BUT...
I am able to see influences, and cultural movement in all of these and it's fascinating. For this EP I will confess I didn't see the worth but since it is cited so often I assume that it was original material. Like a lot of influential stuff, it sounds kind of unremarkable maybe because it was diluted by galaxies of imitators. I will continue to listen to more from Melvins.

( I don't like that genre either by the way. Sabbath was mocked when they came out, but then again so were The Smiths, The Monkees, Be Bop etc. etc.)
