Depends what you’re comparing. Compare to high school only, university degree holders earn substantially more. Compare to all college and trades programs, the margin is smaller but still quite a bit more. This is available info from the census, I think. I could try to hunt it down, if I wasn’t so lazy.
Agreed but there is a huge discrepancy between degrees. There are lots of useless degrees and a lot that provide excellent earning potential. The latter I’m sure skew the numbers for ‘university graduates’.
Personally I would never encourage my kids to go to university unless they’re taking a vocational degree.
