Not really a money scandal - no money went between Liberals and anyone else.

Of course it's about money, it just isn't about government corruption. It is however about ethical behaviour. There used to be such a thing as ministerial accountability. When something seemed shady or not right, a minister stepped down until it was cleared up. That never seems to happen anymore, it's always double down, deny and obstruct as much as you can. Our standards keep getting lower and lower.

Why are you being pedantic?

It's clearly not a money scandal.

Not being pedantic at all. If Justin's doom and gloom over SNC not getting a DPA comes true, how much do you think will be lost by shareholders of SNC, never mind the jobs? The biggest share holder of all is The Caisse.

Even with the beating SNC shares have been taking, the company's market cap is still over 3 billion.

Myself, I followed very closely at the beginning and decided (like most Canadians apparently) that there was a breach, but that it didn't surprise nor alarm me.  Given the state of the opposition, there is no reason to dump Trudeau over it.

Polls so far haven't had hardly any effect based on the ethics report, with media thinking that any anti-Liberal sentiment that has come from this scandal is already "baked in" among voters since earlier in the year.

As for the state of the opposition, this election is really just a case of picking your poison.  All 3 major parties plus the Greens and Bernier's are basically crap.  This country is in trouble no matter who wins.

This country is in trouble no matter who wins.

What if nobody wins, which is usually the case if not always when you consider those who opt out. We have a system where a minority of the voters which represents a small percentage of the population give 100% of the power to a single party. It is generally something like 20-30% of Canadians are deciding for the rest of us.

Time to look for a better system, like the one promoted by Mackenzie King a century ago.

I suspect what we'll see is a razor thin Liberal minority win and then they will cozy up to the Greens/NDP to create a majority and push Scheer aside. Well at least we won't have to revisit the abortion issue.

you need to move on... get over it!. Ya ya, the fake, trumped-up scandal's money attachment might come in the form of a possible $500 fine for a claimed "ethics sumthin" - like I asked earlier, if that fine actually comes forward will you contribute to the go-fund-me campaign I intend to start to pay it off - will ya?

ok, ok - you need to listen to member Impact - a so-called political "money scandal" involves things like illegal/questionable spending, politicians extorting money, politicians transferring money for personal/political gain, corrupt campaign donations, dark money influences, etc..

Aside to @waldo - sorry buddy, I met Andrew Cash running for the NDP in my riding and he charmed the pants off me, as well as assuring me that no conservative will get elected so Justin has lost my strategic vote :(  That said, I hope you aren't mad at me and will make it up for you by advocating for the Liberal PM as much as I can.

Love Michael

oh nooooos! You made me look... right now 338 has Davenport as a 'Toss Up' between the NDP & Liberal candidates. NDP Cash couldn't hold that seat in 2015, losing to the current Liberal incumbent (also running again). It reads like he was collateral damage in the 2015 wave to purge Harper Conservatives... perhaps he'll take it back! Anyway, I was somewhat taken with his long music history through the ranks of punk, heavy-rock and alt-country - you know, a tailor-made artsy creative type just for you Michael! But then... I read he took a turn towards politics, to follow the path taken by his long-time friend from their early 80's punk-band days - here's a photo of Cash and his friend "Chuck" (Cash on the right)... today better known as that azzhole NDP MP Charlie Angus! Oh my Michael - don't do it!  ;D

There are two things that are at the bottom of every scandal, sex or money.

You really are obnoxious.

Yeah, but 'money scandal' is a specific thing - referring to scandals involving bribery, and corruption of that kind.

Of course there is a financial aspect to this - there is to everything in politics - but it's not a money scandal so people don't care as much.  That's not my opinion, it's just conventional political wisdom.

Yeah he looks old now, but a sweet guy.  He didn't even mind that I vote Liberal when required.  I could see him getting back in.

I feel the people who don't vote have that right.  I don't feel bad for them if that's what they choose.  But i agree the system is flawed.  One of the reasons why I support more direct democracy like referendums on important issues and whatnot.  I'm tired of one person (the PM) using his vast power to decide policy for his MP's and the rest of Canada.

Also tired of parties electing these fools as leaders.  But it might take a fool to run for leader anyways, with the relentless 24/hr MSM and social media, the stress is relentless.  It's not like it was 50 years ago.

Andrew Cash and Charlie Angus were punk-rockers?
Wow!
That must be why I like those guys!
Punk tells no lies. Lol

Yeah a report wasn't recently released that gave this story new life or anything.  ::)
Report or not, nobody is talking about this. No one cares anymore.
