It's a philosophical (ideological) difference.  They put a high value on civil liberty over government things like lockdowns or universal daycare.

I'd like to think people are mulling the philosophy but I doubt it

I'm glad I live in a country where at least a small minority (let's use the 10% number) disagree with the curtailing of our constitutional rights instead of all 100% of us just going along with it.  And you should be too.

and even if one were to presumptuously accept the/your suggestion 'constitutional rights' were/are being infringed, what's wrong with following the typical procedural approach to seek remedy per Section 24(1) - Remedies of the Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms?

of course there's no shortage of organizers claiming position/protesting authority to make demands! Like these from the, 'Freedom Convoy 2022' organizers; specifically:

=> The federal and provincial governments terminate the vaccine passports and all other obligatory vaccine contact tracing programs, or Inter-Canada passport systems.
=> Terminate Covid vaccine mandates and respect the rights of those who wish to remain unvaccinated.
=> Cease the divisive rhetoric attacking Canadians who disagree with government mandates.
=> Cease to limit debate through coercive measures with the goal of censoring those who have varying or incorrect opinions.

Even if I don't quite agree with their positions I'm glad I live in a country where at least a small minority (let's use the 10% number) disagree with the curtailing of our constitutional rights instead of all 100% of us just going along with it.  And you should be too.  Somebody has to be there to question these things or disagree with them and push back.  These are those people.  Instead of just laughing at them and mocking them just let them do their thing, as long as it isn't violent or involve illegal activity I really don't care what any peaceful protestor does.

No one is annoyed about the fact of the protest, people are annoyed that it's in service of a really stupid cause (that is of course if you accept the premise that it's about vaccine mandates and not that its just a fundraising/publicity vehicle for the far right).
 

Our smug PM aka your hero has already written these protestors off as some fringe morons not worthy of his time. If he wasn't so smug maybe he'd actually take 10 minutes to actually listen to what they have to say because they are Canadians and he's their PM, even if still ends up disagreeing with them and implementing absolutely nothing that they want, which is what's going to happen.  But if it were busloads of BLM activists he'd be out getting photo ops to post on Twitter to show us all how nice he is (which is BS).

In the past King has gone on record about his feelings about the “Anglo-Saxon replacement,” that plans to “flood [Canada] with refugees,” and subvert the education system -- a thin rebranding of the great replacement theory touted by ethnonationalists.

At other points, King has expressed overtly racist and antisemitic statements. In a 2019 stream about the then-upcoming federal election King complained that he had to leave the movement due to their lack of success: “[The election] won’t matter…unless you want to change your national language to Chinese or Mandarin or Hebrew,” and going on to compare Chinese names to the sound of change falling down stairs.

He’s publicly distorted established facts about the Holocaust – a form of Holocaust denial – saying, “I do know that the Holocaust [sic] was reduced to 1.5 million and not the 6 million that it was said to be.” He then invoked the antisemitic conspiracy theory that the Jewish people are secretly in control of world governance, media, and finances: “The questions have been asked several times to the ADL and the Jewish government and communities. We have Jewish world [bankers] who are dictating our government policies and controlling our Politicians.”

But then an anti convoy post, showing a line of turkeys showed up... and the silent majority LIKED that one quite a bit.

Did it require mandatory vaccines?

Do you believe the state should mandate that people undergo medical procedures on their bodies?

I'm a big believer in vaccines but also a believer in informed consent.

No one is being forced to get the vaccine.

Children needed vaccines to be allowed to attend school, among other mandates in the past.

He's Canadian.  He went to Queens.

He is South African and lived in Canada for less than three years. He transferred from Queens to the University of Pennsylvania where he got his degree. He got his citizenship through his Canadian mother.
