The fact he may have had little say on the content doesn't later the fact he was indeed the editor-in-chief of a collaborationist newspaper who worked directly with the Nazis.

"who"... who is who? You've repeatedly attempted to leverage the statements of John-Paul Himka (professor emeritus at the University of Alberta)... yet you somehow now choose to ignore the waldo's quoted Himka statements from the Ling/VICE News article; again:
Quote
Ultimately, he said, it is also difficult to pin any of this onto Freelandís grandfather.

ďHe wrote nothing for the paper. He was largely a figurehead, a liaison with the German censors and a guy to call on the carpet when a whipping boy was needed,Ē Himka said over email.

and now you're left to emphasize, as fact, the "editor-in-chief" role... while completely ignoring the particulars of just what that role entailed.

more pointedly, drawing reference to:
Quote
Ernest Gyidel: a Ph.D. Candidate in the Department of History and Classics, University of Alberta. He received his B.A. from Uzhhorod State University and M.A. degrees from the Central European University (Budapest) and University of Alberta. His doctoral dissertation (under the supervision of Professor David R. Marples) deals with the legal Ukrainian press in the General government, focusing on the newspaper Krakivs'ki visti.

Quote from: Ernest Gyidel
Calling {Chomiak} him chief editor is a bit of a misnomer. He managed the technical aspects of the paper ó the printing, the type set, the distribution, the logistics. Throughout the whole of the war, he never wrote a single article.

Quote
He was in no way an intellectual collaborator. But you could definitely see him as a situational collaborator.

Just labelling him a collaborator oversimplifies a horrifically complicated time. But it certainly suits Vladimir Putin and his allies now to insinuate that Freelandís credibility is tainted by her grandfatherís past.

I'm beginning to see how the Russian memes are valuable for disinformation, even if they are wildly ridiculous and  easily discredited.

This just in:  in a shocking turn of events, Trudeau has nominated an aboriginal woman as the next Supreme Court Justice.

The last time Trudeau nominated anyone to anything based on only merit was never.  Biden hot on his heels!

You know you're a racist when you look at an Indigenous or Black woman being nominated for a position of import and automatically assume they aren't qualified.

Also, Trudeau didn't choose her, this ain't the US.

The PM selects from a short list provided by an eight person advisory board of which only three members are appointed by the government.

Her ethnicity was certainly a factor in her selection but there is no question she is qualified.

Weird how no one ever said ethnicity (or gender) were certainly a factor in their selection when they exclusively picked white guys.

I never said she wasn't qualified.  I said she wasn't chosen solely based on merit you race-baiting piece of sh!t.

That's false.  Read the Supreme Court Act.

I'm quite shocked he chose an aboriginal woman.  Shocked I tells ya.  I'm actually fine with the appointment from what I know,  the SCC is made up of all sorts quotas, probably time an aboriginal got on.

Good point.  I think it goes:

1.  Skin colour
2.  Ethnicity
3.  ****
4.  Sexual orientation
5.  Qualifications

Although 3 and 4 could be flipped depending on how our woke Wonder boy is feeling on a particular day.  Heís got hundreds of years of injustice to make up for!
