Again, who says those reductions weren't met because of technological advances?

I drive a Hybrid now, so my emissions are far lower than they were in 2007.

That's kinda the point of a carbon ta, to convince people to reduce their emission by perhaps buying a hybrid when they need a new car.

I think people just do that because they want a more affordable lifestyle.

A carbon tax is punitive. And people are just going to absorb it and reduce recreational transportation, which means less money spent contributing to the economy.

The BC economy has actually expanded faster than other provinces since the implication of the carbon tax.

Liberal government climate change propoganda "leaked" to CBC News the day the carbon tax goes into effect. This is utterly disgusting.

You're right - it's utterly disgusting that we've let it get this bad.

Yes, how dare those scientists leak a report one day before it is scheduled to be released. I pine for the good old days of the Harper government, where scientists where hung by their thumbnails.

We've known for some time now that global warming is occurring at significantly faster rates toward the poles. Maybe it's time to try to do something about that rather than simply allowing Carnival Tours to run a ship through the NW passage because there is no ice there any more.

I pine for the days when government scientists weren't politicized, either by the Harper or Trudeau govs.

Sure.  But I'd rather it be done without political propaganda.  I'd rather our gov scientists and crown media agency not be used as tools in a propaganda machine.

It's more science than it is propaganda. And in any case Trudeau is reacting to the science as opposed to Harper who tried to slip it under the rug.

Mostly built on real estate. Gas prices on the lower mainland are hitting $1.60 a litre and you can buy it just across the border for $.90 a litre. All that money going south and Vancouver real estate has just had its worst March since 1986. The place has made itself too expensive and uncompetitive and there is a reckoning just around the corner.  Almost everything you consume comes to you in transport powered by ICE's as do many of the services you use. These taxes are inflationary.

Finish. Prove the tax caused the expansion of the economy.  How did the carbon tax cause do that?

Ah, didn't say the carbon tax caused the expansion. I said it occurred concurrently.
