Europeans generally have less distance to travel and efficient public transportation systems that make the use of vehicles unnecessary 80% of the time for most people. I once travelled from Hendon, north of London to Croyden, south of the city, right through London by a combination of trains and tube in the middle of rush hour. It took me just over an hour. It would have taken at least twice that to drive.
Ok. London doesn’t need cars. Try cruising around Lapland.
You think the recent increase is due to the carbon tax? That’s been on it for years. So any increase lately has been due to market conditions, whether it’s gouging by oil companies, or supply/demand.
