I am not a fan of Trudeau.

But, I do recognize there is a world of difference between a 2 party system (as the U.S. virtually is) and the multi-party system that we have in Canada, where individual ridings typically have more than 2 viable parties.
In elections in the United States there are also usually multiple parties on the ballot.
That's why I said the U.S. is Virtually a 2 party system. Notice the word "Virtually"? Its a rather significant word in that context.

While other parties exist (and people may also do occasional write-ins), those parties usually only receive a tiny fraction of the vote (generally amounting to single digits in percentage). This is significantly different than the Canadian system. To put it in perspective, in 2020 the Libertarians, Greens, and all other parties received ~2% of the popular vote in the U.S. election. In the 2021 Canadian election, 6 different parties received a higher percentage of the vote than the Libertarians and Greens combined in the U.S. election.
