Appeal to authority fallacy.  People can find an economist to agree with any economic policy.  Economics is no less ideological than politics, because it is politics.  Marx and Milton Friedman were both economists and disagreed on everything.

But I'm with the gov on this, people need to eat and have a house over their heads.  What matters most here is that people and businesses defrauding the government is minimized and people who can't work are able to get their basic needs met.

People such as Milton consider social responsibility toward the needs of the people to be a much less important consideration, if indeed in Milton's case, any consideration at all.

Was Milton wrong or right.
To me and my fellow leftists, he was wrong and I'm not afraid to say so.
It was believed afterward that the man was a lunatic, because there was no sense in what he said. ~M.T.
