Are you not concerned at the idea of expanding MAiD to include people suffering from mental illness? David Lametti is concerned enough that he's putting it on hold.

I'm glad that mom was able to choose her time. It was a blessing.  But she had either days or weeks, and no longer.  I think there's a big difference between allowing someone whose death is imminent and unavoidable to end it vs allowing people to choose to die in a variety of other circumstances.  Mental illness, in particular, raises alarm bells, because we tend to regard the well-known phrase "being of sound mind..." as a prerequisite to making major decisions.  How do you do safeguarding around the wishes of people who by definition may have impaired judgment?

When mom was interviewing the hospice doctor regarding her wish to die and filling out the paperwork, dad told the doctor "I want that too. I don't want to be here anymore. I want to go with her."  The doctor told him he wasn't' eligible. At the time, it was what what he wanted, but he's still alive and he's doing better now. He's going to be getting counselling. I'm grateful that he wasn't eligible. I'm leery of expanding access to MAiD in ways that would make people like dad eligible. The safeguarding has to be bulletproof. I realize that mental health care in this country is kind of a disaster, but MAiD can't be the solution.

Exactly.  We’re not treating people that could be treated, we’re just inviting them to kill themselves.  It’s the far left going full nazi now.

in the months long lead-up to the federal government's recent days health care spending proposal, repeated claims were made that Provinces weren't spending all of their past allocated health care transfer monies... on health care! Supporters of CPC/Poilievre and Conservative led Provinces labelled such claims misinformation/lies...

so leave it to Andrew Coyne to put an actual dollar figure on the amount of Health Transfers NOT being spent on health care by Provinces - $70 Billion... and to pointedly ask just where that $70 Billion actually went:

It seems to be an endless parade of ethics violations by everyone in the party.  It's definitely time for a change.  This is getting ridiculous.

MP Greg Fergus becomes the latest Liberal caught violating ethics rules

Hey Wally, is that health care funding fully costed by the feds?

Sounds like an election coming up if Justine is handing out other people's money again.  Better get your sleep now Wally.

Is that general revenue funding fully costed wally?  Or just adding to the debt?

Is anyone in this country going to ever raise taxes again to pay for their socialist policies?  Healthcare, dental,  pharma, daycare... sounds nice but who is paying for this?

Hey wally, by the by, how come Trudeau is so Gung ho on carbon reductions but is busy flying all the way to the Yukon on his private jet to....say stuff we already knew about a balloon the Americans downed for us.  Sounds more like a polluting campaign stop than anything.

"Do as I say, not as I do" - Trudeau.

Trudeau:  I'm going to call an election soon, US please help me pander to Quebec voters.

US:  No, we want these migrants to leave our country.

NYC mayor:  Agreed.  Here's some free bus tickets.

6% new Trudeau tax on alcohol starting March 1st.

Then a new carbon tax on April 1st.

F**k Turdeau.  He’s an a** hole.
