Happy anniversary, mon ami.  With you as my Prime Minister, every day is an adventure. I hate you, Justin.

Clark lost an election because he was going to impose a 18 cent a gallon gas tax. That's just under 4 cents a litre. Liberals called him arrogant. Justin's carbon tax is 8.8 cents a litre. How times change.

Do you think responding to climate change might have something to do with that?

Also, are you going to hold a political party to what they said 40 years ago?????

Clark did it to try and slow the financial bleeding and growing deficits and bring Canadian oil prices closer to world levels. This was a time when Americans came to Canada to fill up. No worries about the present government doing anything that responsible.

I didn’t actually ask why Clark did it....  did I?  I thought my questions were pretty clear.

I wasn't even responding to you, it was to MH's comment about Clark. I think he won the neutral vote because a lot of people now realize he was right all along. He lost the election and we got the NEP which almost broke up the country and is still a major source of bad feeling in the West.

I was wondering what your point was. Taxes in the name of climate change are noble but fiscal responsibility isn't?

What about the fiscal irresponsibility of not accounting for the harm our economy does to our planets natural capital?

What planet do economists think our economy comes from?
