How does home ownership affect a voters political power? You can't donate shares of your house to politicians.  You only have "economic power" from home ownership when you sell your home and downsize to a condo or retirement home or whatnot.

More likely the pieces of sh!t politicians don't want their own homes to lose value and are in bed with developers and banks.

It motivates them to vote and be involved in politics?

Regardless of who is at fault, the simple fact is there is no motivation to fix housing in this country in a meaningful way.

I thought you were in favour of capitalism and supply and demand. Glad to see you realize that system has failed. I too call for a federal housing strategy to solve this.

Right.  Just ignore the government policies that distort the market.  But it's weird that other countries use cApiTalIsM aNd sUpPlY AnD DeMaND and don't have the same problem.

DeMAnD is not the same everywhere. Why is this federal government policy you are unable to name not causing the same effect in Canadian cities with less dEManD?

Canada is bad, probably because of foreign money.

There's a whole bunch of reasons.

I guess it’s easier to keep your head in the sand than to acknowledge the policies that are directly leading to the problem.

Thousands of cancer patients are being sent to the United States for treatment.

c'mon Shady! "Are being sent"... or "could be sent"?

Quote from: BC NDP Health Minister, Adrian Dix
Staffing shortages, a need to upgrade equipment and more diagnoses of cancer necessitated a short-term solution. Starting May 29 and for two years, up to 50 B.C. residents per week could be sent south of the border for no-cost treatment.

Quote from: BC NDP Premier David Eby
The health minister saw the demand for cancer care growing and so came up with a solution. From my perspective, from the perspective of our government – anything we can do to ensure they get urgent care, and the care that is medically recommended for them in the timeframes that are required is essential

New bail reform proposal, because the Trudeau regime’s experiment with lax bail has been an unmitigated disaster.  Which has resulted in a huge surge in repeat violent crime offences.

When an NDP government is sending  thousands of patients to the US for treatment, you have to wonder how bad things really are in our health care system.

This must be like having to eat a live frog for the NDP.

Shortages of beds, nurses and physicians.  The Trudeau regime doesn’t care.  It’s full speed ahead on record numbers of new citizens each year.  Consequences be damned.  Housing and healthcare are in a crisis in this country.

antiImmigrationShadyMan! If only you could provide analysis/data that speaks to immigration being your favoured boogeyman - yes?

speaking of healthcare, will this analysis/study temper your fervour for healthcare privatization? Western Canada’s experience with for-profit surgery clinics: They worsen staff shortages, cost more and provide lower quality!
