You’re proving my point for me: revering a person who does bugger all by design is absurd. You’re literally celebrating a person for the mere fact of existing.
She was the head of state of the country for 70 years for Pete's sake. That's worth celebrating in itself. The monarchy doesn't do a ton, especially in Canada with the role given to the GG for most functions, it's largely a ceremonial role. I'm not sure what you're looking for beyond that. She also has come over to Canada less and less because she was old as dirt.
If Americans had a first lady who served for 70 years and she died they'd be sad and celebrate her too, but the first lady doesn't do a lot either besides ceremonial and charitable stuff.
