Well first we are going to become domestically  independently sustainable in energy - produce ALL of our own electricity to replace ALL fossil fuel imports.

And we'll continue exporting electricity too, primarily via transmission to the US as at present, but other methods may become available too.

Never say "can't". Some inventive and entrepreneurial spirits will always prove you wrong ... IF we free the energy market from the constraints of our massive public subsidies for fossil fuels, and provide a level playing field for those inventive and entrepreneurial spirits in renewable energy.

It's not rocket science. It's just the free market operating as it should.

You speak of the free market as if it owes you something. You are talking about being able to replace over 20% of this country’s exports like it is some kind of given. There are a lot of poor countries in this world and it isn’t because their people are deadbeats.
