What's "every possible religion" I wonder? Is Judaism included in your grouping?

Yeah!  For sure it is!  Judaism...  Taoism...  all the heathen religions...   Rastafarians...   on and on and on....

But are there any religions that are OK to be ignored for election dates?  Or should Elections Canada consult holy representatives from all religions to ensure a proper date?

Yes, minor religions with few adherents.

how few is a few?

Jews are about 1.1% of the Canadian population.  Orthodox Jews make up about 20% of Jews apparently, so i wouldn't say more than 0.3% of Canadians.  Somewhere around 66,000 in total.

googly says 80% of all Jews live in 6 cities within Canada... and principally within 2 of those 6. Care to offer suggestion where you think those {the majority of} ~66K Observant {Orthodox} Jews live? You do realize this "accommodation" doesn't reflect upon all Jews... just this small(er) segment of Orthodox Jews - yes? So, again... how few is your few?

That's the same as saying "transgenders are so few that we don't need to give them the same Constitutional rights as other people".

Says the guy who's okay with disenfranchising Jews if they don't violate their constitutionally protected religious observances.

I want to disenfranchise every religion equally.  So you agree that the Taoists and Ra worshippers must be consulted about the election date as well, right?

Are they complaining about the election date? Because they certainly haven't asked for accommodation as far as I know.

They may complain about the next date chosen, and will need to be consulted.  The Sun God will not be happy if the wrong date is chosen....

They may and they may not. We can cross that bridge when we get there. For now, Jews are a substantial population in some ridings and violating their constitutionally protected religious rights by disenfranchising them unless they ignore a religious tenet (that violates no one else's rights or freedoms and breaks no laws) is a bad idea.

If you want my actual opinion about THIS instance and what should be done, I think they should just be directed to vote at the advanced polls. Election DAY is not the only time you can vote. The whole reason they have advanced polls is for situations like this.
