but Premier Kenney, the Supreme Court of Canada said the federal carbon tax is constitutional! In the 6-3 decision, Canada's top court ruled the Greenhouse Gas Pollution Pricing Act passed by the Trudeau government in 2018 is constitutional and the national carbon pricing fuel charge stands.

c'mon waldo, why would Kenney resurrect this now... other than he's scurrying about everywhere trying to take the attention off his leadership review and abysmal polling numbers - other than that?

so Premier Kenney is out for a photo-op to play off his move in temporarily reducing the province's pump taxes - what could possibly go wrong!

At least he is trying to reduce them, instead of helping drive them up.

I got considerably more back in carbon tax rebate than I paid for gas all last year.

Although I don't drive much anymore. I have a trickle charger on my battery most of the time so it still always starts. This is the advantage of riding a bike, living in a walkable community...and not working.

So you think we should use more fossil fuels?

I don't think the guy who removed the price cap on electricity, doubling bills for residential and small business consumers, actually cares about people's pocketbooks.

No but affordability is a primary concern for people right now.

They don't need governments going out of their way to make things more difficult. They are the last people who can afford to pony up a $20K premium to buy an new EV. Besides, according to the federal government itself, cars and light trucks are responsible for only 15% of total CO2 emissions.

With Brian Jean and Danielle Smith waiting in the wings the UCP looks set to blow apart into two parties once again.

oh, the unite-the-right irony! Only Manning/Harper et al would have thought it a good idea/plan to bring in 'carpetbagger' Kenney to lead the former Alberta Progressive Conservative party. And really, how surprising is it that so-Con Kenney has failed miserably as the UCP leader in uniting the Progressive Conservative and Wildrose parties - notwithstanding all the wrongdoing, and alleged wrongdoing in that unification undertaking.

with the May 11th return date for UCP member's leadership ballots, I expect the next couple of weeks will 'heat up' significantly; notwithstanding Kenney's formal announcement that he intends to retain UCP leadership with just a 50% +1 return count!

Shame that DINO didn't fall into a tailing pond and drown.

Weird how they don't mention he's one of the guys who is keeping the Dems from enacting their policy agenda and is a big reason they are going to get creamed in the midterms.

They’re going to lose big because their policies are complete s**t.  Even lifelong Democrats have figured that out.

Did you hear Bill Maher making fun of the right-wingers who cherry-pick his criticisms of the Democrats while ignoring the 10x more common Republican criticisms?
