Mr Trudeau Goes to Europe
« on: February 17, 2017, 12:03:36 pm »
I think that Trudeau does a very good job of representing Canada on the world stage.  I was struck by that thought watching him in Washington, Strasbourg, and now in Berlin.  He may not always do things that I agree with, but it's hard to argue that he's not a good ambassador for Canada.

He does present well as long as he doesn't get preachy.

Thankfully he hasn't done that since speaking at the UN - I think that was his only faux pas.

He is very photogenic and I liked the way he handled the Trump handshake, but I still can't stand him.

I'd take him over the cheeto faced ****-gibbon any day though.

Donald wasn't playing so nice today. He keeps forgetting the campaign is over. Maybe time to get to work and stop harping about the press.

I know it's wrong... but my initial reaction when I saw the picture was "is that guy taking a leak?"

But he is working, battling the press is a marathon and it didn't go too good for bush jr, Romney, and McCain.  Don't worry his agenda is being pushed through at a quick pace, congress has to catch up.

His campaign stuff is a chance to communicate his message without filters.  Obama had events as well.

There is no question that he is good at the talking, not so much at the answering.  Which is why he seems to spend more time away than in parliament. flowery, grandiose, platitudes, he's got that stuff down.  Has he thanked the conservatives for getting this deal done (I know, freeland cried a bit) so he could travel and do his thing?

So would you prefer Trump style repetitive nonsense? "I hate the media" over and over?

When has the Prime Minister ever answered question in Parliament?  I mean, seriously.

It's also worth noting that Trudeau got the deal done.  Over years, Harper didn't.  Make of that what you will

In fairness it was a long drawn out process.  Harper did get most of the negotiations done.  Trudeau gets to essentially sign it.  I don't think Harper could have made it go faster if he wanted to given the Byzantine nature of the eu
