Liberals spend < 10% of Indigenous health funds
« on: February 08, 2017, 10:38:39 am »
The federal government is required to match the provincial healthcare funding of indigenous people living off reserve for those who are living on reserve, according to a human rights tribunal that found the federal government's healthcare funding shortfall for on-reserve indigenous peoples to be discriminatory. However, Trudeau's Liberals have not met their obligation, spending less than 10% of the promised and allocated funding.

The Liberal government claims that they're having a hard time finding people who need the money. Currently, they need to go to through a bureaucratic process to claim the expense.

Angus said it's unfathomable that only 22 First Nations children in Ontario have needed medical care in the last year, when there are 26 high-risk children with mental health needs living on Wapekeka First Nation alone.

Wapekeka First Nation officials say they had applied, unsuccessfully, for funding for help with suicide prevention last summer, ahead of the suicides of two 12-year-old girls this January.

The Liberals claim to have a hard time finding sick people to spend the money on, yet they're shooting down applications left and right.

Here we are with more broken promises from Trudeau's Liberals. The double-talking grits are back. Meet the new party, same as the old party.

On the positive side, the reserve near me, on Friday, was approved for a 3 year program related to Jordan's Principle.  There will be a case manager, 6 educational assistants, 10 respite workers, and an administrative assistant.

No problem, they are changing the oath of citizenship to make up for it.

Look at that....a bunch of money spent on admins, instead of healthcare. Go figure.

To me it looks like 2 out of 16 are admins. Do you agree? Is there something abnormal about that ratio?

It's being spent on paper pushers and not help. That's what I mean by admins. Bureaucrats are getting paid. Help is not being paid for.

Respite workers and educational assistants aren't paper pushers though.
