He's already signed more value in trade deals than Harper did in two trips....

Really? Can you name them? Can you tell me what HE did, or his party did, to arrange these deals?

I'm guessing this post will not be answered.

Nothing in that cite offers up any evidence that Trudeau or his government had anything at all to do with any of the deals involved. But one noteworthy part of the story makes the headline look nonsensical.

Most of the jobs will come from $250 million in new investments by Indian companies in Canada. Canadian companies will also invest $750 million in India.

So of these deals, three quarters involve Canadian investment in India, not the reverse. But I guess "Indian companies invest $250 million in Canada" isn't so great a headline.

According to a Scotiabank study the other day Canada is foregoing $15 billion this year because of a lack of pipelines to carry our oil abroad. That ought to be Trudeau's first priority, not what new quaint ethnic outfits he gets to wear today.

Yes, we ought to kick the foreign oil companies out of Canada, and develop our own resources to benefit Canadians.

What would be the point of that if we can't send it anywhere? In any case, foreign investment in Canada's oil industry is at an all time low and getting lower. No one wants to put funds into a landlocked industry where what oil it can export has to be exported at a $30 a barrel discount to the world price.

****, we can't even pipe the oil east so we use it instead of importing Arab oil!

It is the oil companies that invest in infrastructure, and they have no interest in investing in infrastructure to benefit Canadians. They are only interested in raping our natural resources to benefit themselves. You are talking about investing in infrastructure, and I pointed out why it is not being done.

Enbridge wanted to invest in infrastructure to bring oil to Eastern Canada. The politicians said no. What do you expect them to do next? Right now another pipeline company is trying to invest in infrastructure to move oil to the coast, and huge amounts of organized resistance are determined to stop them.

Lots of investment in oil infrastructure is going on south of the border, where there aren't the same degree of roadblocks thrown up by government.

Wrong, 100% wrong. Enbridge decided against making the investment.

I pay as little attention to Trudeau as possible, but when he starts showing up on foreign news sites I do give a look. This was on the BBC site, with a headline Trudeau's Bollywood Wardrobe Amuses Indians. I would suggest that wearing clothing that amuses the locals is rarely a good idea if you want to inspire any degree of respect.

http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-india-43151115

By the way, the Indians are mad at Trudeau and Canada because in the interest of playing political suckup games with sikhs he's been cozying up to Sikh radicals. So what does his group do in India, why, it invites a Sikh terrorist to a reception and gets Trudeau and his wife to pose for pictures with him and his family!

Way to go, Mister Socks!

This.

The story is not news because of Andrew Sheer or the Toronto Sun. The international media took note of Trudeau's dress choices and apparently the people he choose to be seen with.

We all love to mock the leader down South for stepping in it abroad. What's good for the goose right?

Uh huh, after the government changed the rules. Enbridge is moving its billions south of the border, where they don't have to wait ten years for permission to build anything.

This?  This?

WhyTF did you start this thread with such a silly topic re: what Trudeau and his family is wearing if you really wanted to discuss "This?"

Please pardon the whyTF "policing" here but c'mon, c'mon, ... really?

It's international news. Sure I'm going to jump on any story that makes JT look silly. But it's not a homegrown story. It was national news here, because it was international news first.

This wasn't some Alt-Right Blog that just wanted to find anything to criticize him for. Which seems to be what his defenders are implying.

And I'll put in my two cents in while I'm at it. I'm sure that's inline with forum rules otherwise I'd just be posting links.

It's navel gazing from those who don't like JT and are grappling. I think the word "Yawn" has already been applied.

This story is yawn.  I'm much more concerned with JT and his wife shmoozing with a Canadian terrorist...for the 2nd time in a few months.  JT was none the wiser, but he has security people around him who are incompetent.  How can this man be trusted with national security when he can't even take care of the security of himself (the PM) or his wife?

Instead of pretending to be the next JFK & Jackie O you might wanna get on that...
