I do think there's politicization happening, and I'm down on that because I believe that we need to start DEpoliticizing social policy and just do it, with all-party support. There's no advantage of diversity of opinions as to who gets human rights and who doesn't. Minds won't be changed.
Instead, just do what effectively has been done: phase in these changes over time.
There is no DEpoliticizing policy... policy is politics.
Human rights are inherently political.
