What pray tell is good in the CPC plan. Could it be Scheers tax cuts for corporations to solve our environmental problems?
According to Macleans ( https://www.macleans.ca/politics/2019-federal-election-platform-guide-where-the-parties-stand-on-everything/ ) some of the things that the conservatives are offering that people might like are:

- Tax cuts aimed at middle/lower incomes (taxes on income under ~47k) and families (physical fitness and arts activities ta credits)

- Stronger gun laws aimed at firearms smuggled into the country and/or used in crimes

- Health care increases of ~3% / year

And it should be noted that while the Green party is seen as the more "environmental" party, the conservatives don't totally ignore the issue... this includes tax credits for Canadian-developed green technology and for home renovations that improve energy efficiency, and emissions standards for major green-house gas producers. (And unlike the Green party, they won't try to get rid of Nuclear power, one of the dumbest parts of the green party platform.)

Granted, its still early in the election race... parties still haven't released their complete election platforms. Maybe the green party will put some stuff in their platform that matches what the conservatives have offered. Maybe the conservatives will start offering really stupid stuff. But at this point, I don't think its necessarily fair to characterize the conservative plan as "tax cuts to big business".

Explain how this plan of theirs works

He just announced he'll give people who use public transit a tax credit as one measure to incentivize people to help the environment, which was cut by the Liberals in 2017.

It was 6% before Harper cut it, not sure what it is now. It was John Diefenbaker, a Progressive Conservative that originally said the federal government will match dollar for dollar what the provinces pay - what is that ratio today?

Is that right?

From what I can see, health care increases under Harper were around 6%... Under trudeau, the figures seem to fall to around 3-4%.

So, the conservatives aren't necessarily planning a great increase in health care funding, but the are promising to at least maintain the status quo of steady increases that have been going on.

It was Harper that changed the formula. Yes, Trudeau did not restore it.

Greens pull ahead again!!

Small c-conservative Canada (outside of Alberta oil-promoters) is beginning to realize that the Greens are serious about
1) doing business
2) in a new and sustainable way.

Greens have been incorrectly pegged as just another 'social justice environment party of the left'.
But their business and economic policies are their strongest point.

I think small business and farming communities in the great blue swathe of rural Canada are starting to take note of that.

I should probably look to see if this stooopid thread was started by you!  ;D Geezaz, it was! What's the ± margin of error?

and no I didn't vote in your silliness - I certainly wouldn't want to mess with member Granny's delusions of grandeur...

speaking of: both profiled aggregators have the GP winning 3 seats... possibly 4 - all in B.C.. Wonder where member Granny thinks the big GP breakthrough will occur?

per your prior post, as below, it seems the onus is on you, hey! Or are you a tad hesitant to provide reference detail... since that blew-up on you in regards "Mission Improbable". You claim the "Greens are serious? How serious?  ;D

Seems like we're not a left-wing board after all  ???

This would be a Green minority board with a Conservative opposition.

As much as Liz May is insane, i feel bad for the Green Party.  10% poll support = only 3-4 seats.

We should elect a party that will remove FPTP.  Oh wait...
