I'm not a fan of movies like Fatal Attraction, but the climax of the movie where the hero drowns her in the tub (spoiler alert) and relaxes, she rises back up to try and kill him. Last winter, there was a sense of relief in some quarters when Vice President Biden was sworn in as President. The Canadian Government briefly expressed a sigh of relief. It would be prudent to keep the lesson of Fatal Attraction in mind. If President Trump runs for President in 2024, there is a realistic chance he will win. President Biden won because he was not President Trump. By 2024, President Trump may win because he is Trump. President Biden has, so far, under performed and there has been no effort to address the issues that led 75 million voters to support Trump. In 2016, I could not imagine anyone voting for him. He was ill informed and inexperienced. I won't say nuts. Now, he is experienced and his support has not diminished. Unless the Democrats can turn things around, we could have a Trump second term and he never forgets a perceived insult. It would be wise for the Canadian Government to suck up to him occasionally. I hope I am wrong.
